Seeing different therapists here is encouraged by the therapists as appropriate to address your wellness issues.
ROBYN JOY CRITES is a graduate of the Virginia School of Massage in Falls Church, VA.
Her training includes Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, and PreNatal Massage.
Robyn believes the best way to practice massage is to really establish a connection with a client with the intention of gaining an understanding of what type of massage (in terms of pressure) they want, need and hope to accomplish with massage therapy.
She can provide work as firm as needed while holding the belief that pain during massage can be counterproductive and is not the norm.
AMY_FLYNT is a graduate of Applied Kinesthetic Studies (AKS) Massage School in Herndon, VA.
Her work is a combination of deep and light strokes depending upon the client’s needs. Her intention is to provide a thorough, relaxing session.
She has taken additional training in Pre-natal massage, Thai Yoga massage, LaStone Therapy and Reiki energy work and looks forward to continued study in these fields.
Amy is excited to be training in new modalities to grow as a therapist and to be able to integrate new techniques into client treatment plans.
RICK_GRIER is a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) in Washington, D.C.
Trained in Swedish/Deep Tissue massage, and Neuromuscular Therapy, he has been practicing since 1999.
Rick's focus is on pain management, especially referred pain phenomena associated with trigger points, and relaxation.
Unable to find relief from sports injuries through traditional care, Rick turned to massage therapy.
The results were so positive for him that he sought Professional Massage Training so he could bring that level of relief to others.
NANETTE_HARRIS is a graduate of the Daytona School of Massage: Licensed in Florida and Certified in Virginia.
Offering a soothing, comforting massage.
Nanette has lots of experience utilizing hydrotherapy (the use of ice and warm as a therapy) along with a particular interest in foot and lower leg work, she created “Treat For The Feet’ a special 45 minute session.
Nanette enjoys providing massage for seniors. Her Swedish and Deep Tissue massage plus her creative talent with Aromatherapy make for a peaceful, totally relaxing session.
MELANIE_JILLSON is a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, DC.
She leans toward firm, but non-painful massage to get knots out and investigate the underlying imbalances in muscles.
Melanie's fencing has sparked her interest in working with other athletes through massage to avoid injury and improve muscle efficiency as they train.
MIKE MCGRAIL is new to Healthy By Intention. He graduated from AKS in Herndon and has lots of experience with sports massage, deep tissue and is working on myofascial release.
He is a warm, competent therapist with a great personality who wants to help you feel better.
NETTA POPE RILEY graduated from Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI), Washington, DC, in 1991.
She’s Nationally Certified and has been a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) for 15 years.
Netta has a firm, confident, experienced touch and is equally at home with specific, therapeutic work as with deeply soothing relaxation and stress-relief sessions.
She also has experience with Aromatherapy, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) and is a Pre– and Perinatal Massage Specialist.
Netta’s goal is to bring clients those “aha!” moments that often happen during a good massage. The moments when you realize a new sense of freedom has replaced the familiar restrictions; when you recognize the source of an old pain or holding pattern; when you find yourself remembering what ease of motion, relaxed breath or a body at peace with the world, feels like. These moments are the gateway to new possibilities for healthful change!
